籃網18日在客場挑戰塞爾提克，林書豪雖然攻下13分、5助攻，幫助球隊將落後差距縮小至2分，但防守出現大漏洞，被對方在三分線外連續破網，拉出23比7攻勢，最終以99比120不敵綠衫軍，苦吞4連敗。

林書豪此役上場19分鐘，手感依舊維持在高檔，7投5中、三分球3投1中，13分、5助攻、2籃板、1抄截，失誤稍多來到4次，奇普拉克15分最高，荷利斯傑佛生10分。

以前5場熱身賽來看，可用「能者多勞」來形容林書豪，他不但要得分，更要負責組織，甚至切入上籃、三分球也必須倚靠他，助攻就更不用說了。

林書豪在第三節利用三分外線破網，幫助球隊將落後分數縮小至2分差距，可惜當林書豪不在場上時，進攻無效率外、防守更是漏洞百出，被對手打出一波強攻後迅速落後到15分以上。

雖然熱身賽勝負不是重點，但籃網戰績不被期待已是事實，關鍵在於林書豪本季終極目標是什麼？很明顯艾金生還在測試開季的先發陣容，因此林書豪的出賽並未超過20分鐘。但例行賽開打後，林書豪是不動先發第一人選，上場時間將暴增不少，如果總是像此役一樣屢屢替隊友製造機會卻收不到成果，空檔製造出來了球不會進，球傳到了會失誤，那麼只是白白浪費體能。

艾金生該如何定位林書豪？期許他用組織和傳球幫助籃網二線球員，那麼豪哥將會非常辛苦，倘若是給林書豪「無限開火權」的話，那又不符合球隊的最大效益，所以，這將是艾金生在例行賽開打前必須解決的難題。
